About CISC

The Creative Industries Skills Council is a not-for-profit industry body run by a Board of business people from the creative industries.
The Skill Council's Board Directors have a keen interest in ensuring that creative industries remain competitive in a global economy through best skills development practices.

The Skills Council has an extensive network of:

  • Individual businesses, industry and community organisations,
  • Public and private registered training organisations,
  • State, local and federal government departments and authorities.

Vision

Creative Industries Skills Council is the lead organisation creating effective relationships within creative industries to achieve a highly skilled workforce.   

 

Mission

To be the peak independent body that connects business, employers, employees, education, training providers and relevant agencies in creative industries to build a productive workforce with relevant skills to strengthen the capacity of current and future creative industries.

  

Role

The Creative Industries Skills Council is the lead agency facilitating skills development in:

  • The Arts,
  • Entertainment,
  • Fashion,
  • Furniture design,
  • Graphic arts,
  • Printing,
    and other industries.

Our role involves working collaboratively with organisations to develop and formulate vocational education and training plans to ensure businesses continue to grow and contribute positively to Queensland's economic growth.
